A Lux Escape into Nature: Montañita Glamping

There are places that stay with you long after you leave. For us, Montañita Glamping was exactly that kind of experience: a hidden sanctuary where nature, comfort, and simplicity meet in perfect balance.

Located just a thirty-minute drive from Chimbote, this small and still relatively undiscovered glamping project captures what modern travel is increasingly about: connection to nature without sacrificing comfort. In fact, this is exactly why glamping has become such a strong trend worldwide; it combines the raw beauty of the outdoors with the amenities of a boutique hotel.

The Beauty of the Campo Around Chimbote

Most people associate Chimbote with its coastal, industrial identity. But just a short drive away, the landscape transforms dramatically. The campo opens up into wide, peaceful terrain, dotted with rice and cotton fields, soft hills, and an almost meditative stillness. The air feels cleaner, the pace slower, and the silence deeper.

This region is also a gateway to surprisingly rich nature and culture:

  • The valley of Moro District, known for its agriculture and access to the beautiful Hornillos waterfalls,
  • The green highlands of Jimbe, leading toward lesser-known but stunning places like Cutco,
  • The coastal area of Casma and Sechín Archaeological Site, where ancient history meets desert landscapes.

Staying at Montañita Glamping places you right in the middle of this diversity — yet in complete tranquility.

Intimate, Thoughtful, and Quietly Luxurious

What makes Montañita Glamping special is its scale and atmosphere.

Currently, there are only two cabins, which gives the place a deeply private and exclusive feel. This is not mass tourism — it’s intentional, slow, and personal.

Each cabin offers:

  • a cozy bedroom space,
  • a kitchenette,
  • a clean, thoughtfully designed interior,
  • and outdoor areas that invite you to relax and disconnect.

There is also a jacuzzi (whirlpool) or small pool, which becomes one of the highlights of the stay — especially in the late afternoon or under the night sky full of stars.

Evenings naturally gather around the fogata. Fire, silence, stars — nothing more is needed.

And yes — breakfast is included, adding to the ease and comfort of the whole experience.

The Luxury of Simplicity (and an Incredible Staff)

Luxury here comes through details:

  • the calm atmosphere,
  • the space and privacy,
  • the care of the staff,
  • and the feeling that everything flows effortlessly.

The team is warm, attentive, and genuinely present — something that makes a huge difference. In many ways, the place reflects what modern glamping is about: a premium experience rooted in nature, with comfort, good service, and thoughtful design at its core.

How to Get There

Part of the charm is the journey itself. There are a few ways to reach Montañita Glamping:

  • Via Santa / Rinconada
A more traditional route that takes you through rural areas and gives you a feel for the local landscape.
  • Via Nuevo Chimbote (Vía Evitamiento)
A newer and often more direct option, making access easier and faster.

Whichever route you choose, the final stretch already feels like a transition — from city noise into calm countryside. Once you write “Montañita glamping, Rinconada, Peru” into GoogleMaps, the navigation will guide you.

Our Family Experience

We came as a family — me, my husband and our little son who enjoyed immensely the evening bonfires with the marshmellows we were given and with the chorizos we brought to roast over the fire (just like we do in the Czech Republic).

Our days unfolded slowly around morning yoga (surrounded by silence and open space), long, unhurried breakfasts, time in the whirlpool and playing board games (which were in the cottage).

There was no pressure to “do” anything. And that’s exactly what made it so special. We visited the nearby town of Rinconada, took a walk in the fields of corn and cotton and observed butterflies and colibris (hummingbirds) flying around.

We also enjoyed a little afternoon picnic as we brought some fruits in the town (you won´t believe how and good and inexpensive is watermeloun here).

Nights Under the Stars

One of the most unforgettable parts of Montañita Glamping is the night sky. Far from city lights, the stars appear in overwhelming clarity. Lying there on the patio, next to the fire, looking up at the sky, you realize how little is actually needed for a sense of peace and presence.

Why You Should Go

If you are looking for:

  • a peaceful escape near Chimbote,
  • a connection to nature without giving up comfort,
  • a quiet, intimate place instead of crowded resorts,
  • a meaningful travel experience

then this is a place worth discovering.

Some destinations impress you. Others restore you. Montañita Glamping does both. And for us, it wasn’t just a stay — it was a reset.
